Steel No More

Steel No More
March 8, 2021

A reminder of America’s industrial revolution,
The plant stands silent, no more a vital institution.
The backbone of our nation’s greatest cityscapes,
Now a rusting silhouette, seeming so out of place.

Global markets demanding things done fast,
With no concern for what will last.
The labor force replaced by robotic animation,
Wondering what happened to our once strong nation.

Don’t dwell on sadness when you view these walls.
May they be a monument to those who stand tall.
Developing a nation that takes pride in choice.
Strong individuals that let their work be their voice.

Brave souls who worked night and day,
To build a nation called the U.S.A.
