1. Overview
Urban Lithograph operates a public research library and a workspace layer. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, shared, and retained when you browse the site, create an account, use workspace tools, contact Urban Lithograph, or use AI-assisted workspace features.
This policy is meant to describe the service as it currently works. It covers public reading surfaces, account areas, profile settings, saved records, research conversations, map tools, and related support or contact flows.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Registration data such as username, email address, password, first name, last name, and selected access-plan request.
- Profile data such as display name, nickname, website, short biography, avatar uploads, and account-preference updates.
- Workspace content such as location records, notes, linked records, comments, saved conversations, prompts, uploaded images, and related source material.
- Contact information and message content submitted through the contact page or account-related request flows.
- User-supplied API credentials, including an OpenAI key saved in Profile for workspace chat.
Information collected from your use of the site
- Authentication and session information needed to keep you signed in and protect account access.
- Basic technical information such as browser type, device information, approximate IP-based request metadata, referrer information, and server logs generated during ordinary operation.
- Preference data stored in cookies or local storage, including theme and interface preferences and research archive view choices.
Map and place data
- Addresses, coordinates, place names, neighborhood labels, and location notes that you submit or edit in forms and workspace tools.
- Geocoded or reverse-geocoded place information returned by Google services or Mapbox services when the site resolves or validates a location.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide the public research library, account pages, profile tools, workspace features, and saved-location features.
- Create, secure, review, approve, and manage user accounts and requested access plans.
- Save, organize, display, and synchronize workspace location records, working copies, notes, linked places, comments, and conversations.
- Generate maps, geocoding lookups, coordinate updates, and other location-aware features.
- Route AI-assisted chat requests through the provider and model selected for the workspace feature.
- Send operational emails such as password reset links and contact-form follow-up.
- Maintain security, troubleshoot issues, enforce the Terms of Use, and improve product reliability and usability.
4. When We Share Information
Urban Lithograph does not sell personal information for money. Public editorial pages may use Google AdSense to deliver and measure advertising. Depending on your location, consent choices, and Google settings, advertising providers may process device, cookie, approximate location, browsing, and ad-interaction information to select, deliver, limit, and measure ads.
- With hosting, infrastructure, storage, security, email, or technical service providers that help run the site.
- With Mapbox when the site renders map interfaces, static map images, or related location-aware features.
- With Google services when the site uses Google Maps, geocoding, Places, Street View, or related address-resolution tools.
- With Google AdSense and its participating advertising partners when an eligible public editorial page displays or measures advertising, subject to applicable consent choices.
- With the AI provider tied to the feature you choose, such as OpenAI or another provider enabled by Urban Lithograph, when prompts, images, or context are sent to generate a response.
- With the public when content is intentionally published to the public research library or another public-facing surface.
- When needed to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or respond to legal process.
- In connection with a restructuring, sale, asset transfer, or similar business transition, subject to appropriate continuity safeguards.
5. AI Features and User-Supplied API Keys
If you save your own OpenAI key in Profile, Urban Lithograph stores that key in your account settings so the workspace chat feature can authenticate requests on your behalf. Do not save a credential unless you want the service to store and use it for that purpose.
When you use AI-assisted workspace tools, your prompts, saved conversation content, uploaded images, place notes, and selected context may be sent to the AI provider tied to that feature. Your use of those providers is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
7. Do Not Track and Third-Party Tracking
Urban Lithograph does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals with a different product behavior, because there is no single universally applied standard for doing so in the current site stack.
Third-party service providers such as Google AdSense, participating advertising partners, Mapbox, hosting vendors, email providers, and AI providers may receive technical or request data when their features are used on Urban Lithograph. Those providers process data under their own policies and applicable consent signals.
8. Retention
- Account and profile information is retained while your account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward as needed for operations, security, records, or dispute handling.
- Workspace records, saved conversations, uploads, and related materials are retained until they are deleted, the account is removed, or retention is otherwise no longer necessary.
- Contact messages and support correspondence may be retained for follow-up, records, abuse prevention, and service improvement.
- Backups, logs, and cached copies may persist for a limited time even after live records are updated or deleted.
9. Your Choices and Rights
- You can update core profile information, avatar settings, and saved OpenAI key settings from your Profile page.
- You can request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion review for your account data and workspace materials by contacting Urban Lithograph.
- Depending on where you live and what law applies, you may have additional privacy rights. Urban Lithograph will evaluate requests in good faith and respond as required by applicable law.
- Where an advertising consent message is available, you can use its privacy choices control to review or change your advertising preferences.
- You may close or stop using your account, but certain records may still be retained as described in this policy.
10. Security
Urban Lithograph uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information, but no method of storage, transmission, or security control is guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for keeping your own password, API credentials, and account access secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact Urban Lithograph promptly.
11. Children
Urban Lithograph is not directed to children under 13, and Urban Lithograph does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the service. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the site, contact Urban Lithograph so the issue can be reviewed and appropriate action can be taken.
12. Third-Party Services and International Processing
Some service providers used by Urban Lithograph may process data in the United States or in other jurisdictions where they operate. By using the service, you understand that information may be processed by those providers as needed to deliver the features you request.
If you choose not to use certain providers or tools, such as AI chat or map workflows, some features may be unavailable or limited.
13. Changes and Contact
Urban Lithograph may update this Privacy Policy as the service changes. If a material change is made, the policy date will be updated and additional notice may be provided where appropriate.
Privacy questions, data requests, or complaints can be sent through the Urban Lithograph contact page or by email to info@urbanlithograph.com.
