Going through the “Bronzeville” community is Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, previously known as Grand Boulevard. Acquired in 1874 by the South Parks Commission, this tree-lined boulevard became a popular site for affluent Chicagoans to build ornate and luxurious mansions.
