The centennial campaign describes a future that combines an aviation museum, annex murals, and a venue for community events. Those uses are intended to give the hangar a sustained role beyond its original function sheltering aircraft.
The campaign also identifies structural and building-system work. Its scope includes the roof and envelope as well as the historic fabric, making the proposed program dependent on repair as much as on exhibition design.
The village’s August release says the design team is working with the State Historic Preservation Office. JMA identified mechanical systems, fire protection, and functionality as issues to resolve while retaining original elements.
