AI role

Data sent to providers
Prompts, saved context, images, notes, and related location data may be sent to the selected AI provider.
Key rule
Verify output before relying on it, publishing it, or using it for a decision.
Bring your own key
If you save your own OpenAI key, you authorize Urban Lithograph to use it for the workspace feature you enabled.
1. Role of AI on Urban Lithograph
Urban Lithograph may use AI-assisted tools inside the workspace to help summarize, synthesize, compare, or discuss place-based research. AI is designed to support human-led research, not replace it.
2. What May Be Sent to an AI Provider
- Prompts, follow-up messages, and saved conversation history.
- Uploaded images or attachments included in the workspace conversation.
- Location titles, addresses, notes, and selected workspace context tied to the relevant place record.
- Source links, citations, or supporting materials included in the conversation flow.
3. User-Supplied API Keys
If you save your own OpenAI key in Profile, Urban Lithograph may use that key to authenticate requests for workspace features that you choose to use.
You are responsible for the provider account tied to your key, including charges, quotas, rate limits, provider-side logging, and compliance with that provider's own rules.
4. Accuracy, Verification, and Limits
- AI output may be incorrect, incomplete, stale, speculative, or internally inconsistent.
- AI output can misread images, addresses, source material, or geographic context.
- You must independently verify any factual claim, citation, map interpretation, or recommendation before relying on it.
- Urban Lithograph may change models or providers over time, and output quality can vary by model, provider, and prompt.
5. No Professional Advice
AI-assisted output on Urban Lithograph is not legal advice, engineering advice, title advice, preservation certification, regulatory advice, surveying advice, or any other professional service. It is a research aid only.
6. Prohibited AI Use
- Do not use the AI features to generate or distribute unlawful, infringing, harassing, deceptive, or privacy-violating material.
- Do not use the AI tools to impersonate people, fabricate sources, or automate abuse of the platform.
- Do not submit sensitive information to an AI feature unless you understand and accept the provider-side processing that may occur.
7. Automated and Agent Use
Autonomous, bot-style, or agent-driven use of Urban Lithograph may require a separate access path or written permission. Human member access and agent access are not interchangeable.
8. Questions
Questions about AI processing or workspace AI use can be sent through the Urban Lithograph contact page or by email to info@urbanlithograph.com.
